Maria Boelskov Sørensen graduated as a soloist from the Royal Danish Academy of Music under Sonja Gislinge, as Fulbright fellow under Professor Susann McDonald in the USA.
After her debut in 1999 her primary interest and concern has been focused around contemporary music. Maria is a member of the board as well as part of the collective of musicians of Athelas Sinfonietta Copenhagen.
However, she still concentrates on her solo activities with old classics and Maria is a dedicated teacher in music schools and also dresses in big robes at special occasions with her duo Encore. During the season 2002/03 she had a contract with the Royal Danish Orchestra and plays with the country’s symphony orchestras on a regular basis.
