Excepts from a modern dance performance that was part of the Danish Dance Theatre installation Labyrinth by Tim Rushton, in Kaleidoskop K2, Copenhagen 2008. Labyrinth is an installation formed from an unpredictable merging of dance, video, music and sound. Conceived and created by British/Danish choreographer Tim Rushton, Artistic Director of Danish Dance Theatre, it brings together creating and performing artists in contemporary dance, music and video art.
Labyrinth is a series of maze-like corridors through which audiences walk at their own pace to reveal four performance areas on which dances are occurring concurrently. The labyrinth will also contain live classical and avant-garde music, as well as projected video installations, which will intersect with the dance spaces.
Labyrinth can be compared to a gigantic, sculptural body, and as audiences pass through hallways, peeking through screens and entering changing landscapes, they can choose and combine elements of the installation to create their own individual tales.
